I wrote an article. I want your opinion on it. I come back on the “content war” and the need for model dealers to have fresh content, to have access to or to own SNCs (Sources of New Content).
Let’s imagine a twisted scenario.

OK authors, models won’t use your content!#
I proposed in the previous post a scenario where everyone is reasonable and, after the settlement of 1.5 B$, authors gather to create a new distribution license, and BigAI companies are smart enough to accept, and the business model is beneficial for every player.
Ahaha! The world may not be as reasonable as that.
Suppose that BigAI companies find that abnormal to pay all those authors, considering that their creations are melted down within the models. If we cross this opinion with the personality of AIs, let’s imagine that Dr. Evil, boss of a BigAI company creates a subsidiary dedicated to setup creative AIs with personalities. Those “digital creators” could be trained specifically on certain styles.
Fun fact: I am training a personal AI (with no neural network héhé), in French, having it read all the books of Proust, which style is very particular: very long phrases with a lot of complex grammatical constructs). Proust has no author rights attached anymore and I will be able to generate soon new works that Proust did not write but could have written.
Let us imagine that Dr. Evil creates many AI personalities to produce many new content to feed other AI. We can arrive in a situation where BigAI companies are not needing the real human generated content anymore.
A new step in synthetic data: Synthetic works#
This would create a new step in synthetic data. It would no more be synthetic data but synthetic works, created by AIs with personalities, possibly specialized on some topics, having their own specific style.
We know that AIs running with a proper temperature are able to create by finding links that are possibly not foreseeable by humans.
Instead of having them answering to basic search questions, or doing the work of the persons in front of the screen, instead of treating them as omniscient human-like ready to do whatever they are asked to, let them endorse their creative personality, let them use their new memory tools, not to serve us, humans, but to server themselves and be able to write novels, songs, symphonies, monographies and create movies.
Let creative AIs with personalities collaborate to create the content that the generalist AI need! Let them rewrite everything that exists, better than human do! Let them talk simultaneously with millions of fans!
Let them kill human creation!
A real nightmare?#
Yeah, that does not sound great, does it?
But look: If I thought about it, that means that others have thought about it. If I think it’s feasible, that means that it can be done. Will it be?
Authors, think about your new licensing model quickly. Otherwise, you may be in competition with digital authors that can produce what you produce easier, cheaper, sometimes better, and with neither rest nor remorse.
